If you choose traditional metal braces, you can choose elastic bands in colors such as red, blue, green, purple, yellow, pink, orange, gray, silver and black. Which Color Braces Should I Choose?
Which color braces you choose can depend on lots of things. In general, you’ll want to avoid rubber bands in colors such as:
- Black–black elastics can resemble rotting food or teeth.
- White and yellow–elastics in white or yellow can make teeth look more yellowed.
- Green or brown—elastics in green or brown can resemble food caught in your teeth.
Those are just guidelines. Feel free to experiment with a color you wear often, your school colors, the colors of your favorite sports team or a color to match the holidays, such as red, white and blue in the summer, or glow-in-the-dark bands for Halloween.
